Psychometric properties and factor structure of the Iranian version of the Social Phobia Inventory (I-SPIN)

Introduction: Despite the high prevalence of social anxiety disorder and necessity conducting etiological studies, existing measures lack robust factor structure due to methodological flaws, leading doubtful results. Aim: The present study is aimed investigate structure, reliability, convergent validity Iranian version Social Phobia Inventory (I-SPIN). Method: This a cross-sectional, psychometric study. Two large samples (N1=1210, N2=228) have been selected with convenience sampling method from student population three different universities in Zanjan city (i.e., University Medical Sciences, Azad, Payame Noor University) who were studying those February July 2020. CAQ-GE, BAI, BDI-II, IUS-12 used Exploratory confirmatory analysis conducted using Mplus-7.4 SPSS-26 was perform internal consistency analyses. Results: revealed that two-factor model best fit data. Besides, results indicated I-SPIN has positive significant correlation anxiety-related (p<0.01) acceptable (α=0.92). Conclusion: Considering excellent properties an college sample, this measure would improve accuracy future studies help us broaden our knowledge underlying mechanisms disorder.
